My Story
My journey began in Slovakia, where I studied dressmaking and tailoring from 1996 to 2000. After graduating, I spent six months working in a factory producing jeans and army uniforms from scratch. It was a valuable experience, but I quickly realised that mass production wasn’t my calling. In 2001, I opened my first bespoke dressmaking business, creating garments tailored to each client. In 2005, I moved to the UK to learn English and immerse myself in a new culture. I worked various jobs to adapt and grow, eventually finding my way back to tailoring, my true passion.
In 2011, I founded Tailoress Design and set up a small studio in my dining room. The early days were tough. I juggled multiple jobs while building my reputation and client base. That same year, I had the opportunity to work with a London fashion designer, contributing to collections for London Fashion Week. In 2012, I was honoured to be part of the PGA Ryder Cup team, applying my skills in a prestigious international setting. By 2013, Tailoress Design had grown enough to move into a dedicated studio in Farnborough, where I offered bespoke tailoring, bridal services, and alterations.
In 2017, I moved into the beautiful premises where Tailoress Design is now based. The studio became a hub for creativity and craftsmanship. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, I adapted by making face masks and supporting my community. That challenging time made me stronger and more focused. I realised my true passion lay in bridal design. Helping brides feel confident, beautiful, and understood. Tailoress Design began to specialise in bridal wear, and I poured my heart into every gown.
By 2022, I had gained deeper insight into the emotional journey brides go through from dress choices to wedding stress. This understanding helped me refine my approach, offering not just tailoring but empathy and guidance. In November 2024, I entered The Wedding Industry Awards and was honoured to be named Wedding Seamstress of the Year 2025 for the South Central region. Becoming a national finalist was a surreal and proud moment ,a recognition of years of dedication and love for my craft.
Today, Tailoress Design is stronger than ever. I’m committed to delivering the highest level of service to every client, especially brides who trust me with one of the most important garments of their lives. I have exciting plans for the future. New ideas, new designs, and new ways to connect with clients. Only time will tell where the journey leads, but one thing is certain: every stitch will be made with passion, precision, and purpose
